Making your first moves in Jigsaw Sudoku

Open Jigsaw Sudoku, check the instructions and begin a round. Fill each row, column and irregular coloured nine-cell region with 1–9 once. Use the example below to understand a decision. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Look at what changes after your first action.

This collection contains 6 puzzles. Progress is saved in this browser. The same puzzle can appear again; the collection is not labelled with calibrated difficulty levels.

Practice with a purpose

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Notice the feedback after each input.

What you are aiming for

Fill each row, column and irregular coloured nine-cell region with 1–9 once. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Notice how the game responds to your input.

A walkthrough of the rules

  1. Select an editable cell.
  2. Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
  3. Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
  4. Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
  5. New puzzle selects another included puzzle.

Using the playing area

Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.

A useful example

The coloured region, not a conventional 3×3 box, defines the third no-repeat constraint. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Read the matching step again.

An important reminder

A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. Compare the situation with the worked example. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
