Know the goal in Snake

Snake gives you a focused activity to play in your browser. Keep collecting apples. Hitting a wall or your body ends the round; filling the entire board wins. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Read the objective before making your first input. Use the example below to understand a decision.

Build familiarity through play

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your objective

Keep collecting apples. Hitting a wall or your body ends the round; filling the entire board wins. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

The order of play

  1. Press Play to start the movement.
  2. Turn with arrow keys, swipes or the on-screen direction buttons.
  3. Each apple adds ten points and makes the snake longer.
  4. Pause when needed or start a new round.

Choosing and moving on screen

Keyboard arrows, swipe gestures or the four direction buttons. Play / pause controls the movement. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.

A useful example

When moving right, you may turn up or down, but cannot turn immediately left into your own neck. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Read the matching step again.

Notice this detail

The snake continues moving between inputs. Plan a route with space to turn. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
